What is CSV file?
CSV File: A comma-separated values (CSV) file stores tabular data (numbers and text) in plain-text. Plain text means that the file is interpreted in a sequence of characters so that it is human-readable with a standard text editor. Each line of the file is a data record.
With an import you can easily migrate your store from another provider to our own service, trying to maintain as much information about your products as possible.
Importing products to our store implies a three step process:
- Uploading a CSV file to your store
- Making sure the CSV contains the information you need
- Mapping the information of the CSV to your store
How to upload CSV file?
1) Use the Import button at MyStore >> Products.
2) From the new “Import product by CSV” window upload your file and select its parameters:
- Select File
This allows you to select which file to import. This file should be located on your computer
- Header Line
Set this toggle to on if your CSV file contains the field names on its first line/row.
Choose from which line to start importing.
- CSV Template
This allows you to download an example CSV file for you to confirm a working import.
Making sure the CSV contains the information you need
Example fields that the file should include:
The name of the product.
The description of the product.
- SEO title
The SEO title for the product page.
- SEO description
The SEO description for the product page.
- On sale
On Sale Flag.
- Category name
The name of the category this product is part of.
- Category description
The name of the category description this product is part of.
- Brand name
The name of the brand.
Any tags the product may contain, separated by spaces
Currently available product quantity. Only required if you selected tracking.
The SKU code for the product.
The Barcode for the product.
The price per unit for your product.
The weight of the product. Needs to be either in Kg or Lb depending on the setting for your store.

Mapping the information of the CSV to your store
After uploading a new file to import into CloudCart, you will want to match your incoming data with the correct fields inside the product management area.
On the mapping screen “Import product by CSV” you will be able to match each value (column or field inside your CSV file) to a specific field inside our product listing.
You can control what gets migrated by changing its parameters:
- Import all products with this category
This will filter which categories to import data to.
- Import all products with this brand
This will filter which brands to import data to.
- Stop when category limit is reached
If toggled on, the import will stop once the category limit is reached. The category limit is set by your subscription plan.
- Stop when brand limits is reached
If toggled on, the import will stop once the brand limit is reached. The brand limit is set by your subscription plan.
